Beautiful Hotel, olde World charm. Delightful owners who couldn't do enough to ensure I was comfortable. Greeted by Tilly the adorable Poodle, and a gorgeous roaring fire in the sumptuously decorated reception, perfect for a crisp October evening arrival. The room I stayed in (7) was a large, beautifully decorated traditionally styled, and immaculately clean with the added bonus of a bath. Lovely comfortable bed with a plentifully stocked hospitality tray. I had two great nights sleep. The history of the Hotel is fascinating too, with lovely grounds worth exploring in the summer! Literally just off the M74 so very useful for transport links. No restaurant as such - it has been converted to a delightful antique store..but lovely breakfasts available, freshly prepared in the morning and a well stocked bar for an evening tipple before you retire. I thought it was quaint, elegant and gorgeous, harking back to a more gentile time, I'm looking forward to returning soon.

The Hotel although looking a little tired from the outside gave no indication of how beautifully all common areas and rooms had been decorated.Facilities in room were excellent, very clean.Continental Breakfast was an excellent spread, layed ouy a vast array of cereals, fruit plus fresh fruit.cold meats and cheese, yoghurt. Then to top it off Angela the waitress come cook asked if we would like home made croissants ,toast, and choice of boiled, poached,or scrambled eggs.(she evenknows how to coddle the poached eggs the way they should be cooked)On top of that very friendly.Has a pleasant bar.

Not the easiest to find but what an imposing building. In it's day it must have been a very grand house, which we all know takes a lot of looking after. The hall whilst has seen better days is a really friendly and pleasant place to stay. Don't get put off by the slight query style you will not regret booking a room here. Whilst it has to be said it's wedged between a major road and main line railway we had a peaceful sleep. The breakfast was a nice continental plus type and plentiful.

Great location. Loaded with history. Friendly, lovely staff. Very nice bedroom fully equipped with toiletries, tea and coffee. Comfy beds with lovely clean crisp bedding and fluffy towels. Very clean high standard. Breakfast is buffet. We had more than enough to eat. This was our second visit. Would recommend.

Very easy to find, a little gem of a hotel perfect for a short stay. If you like looking at antiques and guessing what old farm machinery was used for this has an excellent collection arranged around the grounds. This is our second visit, and just as enjoyable as the first.
